Who doesn’t feel enthralled by a painter’s studio? One enters it each time driven by the pleasure of a subtle and gleaming curiosity, towards the ambiance even more than towards the artworks. It is the timeless fascination and eternal mystery - in the eyes of the common man - of an artistic creation.

Today, somewhat minimalist large spaces are fashionable, lived in and «played out» between creative research and public relations, where the excessive disorder and the drama of art conception is kept under control. Of course, it feels as if a heroic era has ended. If in the Italian Renaissance the painters’ workshops resembled Dante’s forges, or if in the nineteenth century they had a hint of anti-bourgeois pride, despite the fact that they were still proud, and if in the late twentieth century...
