Following their demonstrations in Lausanne, Geneva and Bern, the climate activists of Renovate Switzerland went into action this morning, blocking the traffic at the highway exit of Crissier (VD). Six protesters sat on the highway and three of them glued their hands to the asphalt.

The demonstration, which started shortly before 07.45 AM, affected traffic for about an hour. The police intervened on the spot, who moved and arrested the demonstrators.

Renovate Switzerland, which first made its presence known to the federal government on April 11, is demanding an action plan from the Federal Council to renovate the one million properties in need of urgent work to reduce GHG emissions by 2040.

The activists do not intend to stop until they are heard. If nothing happens in the coming weeks, "we will be back on the streets, in greater numbers and for longer," they pledge in the statement.
