Mont Blanc - two climbers fall from the Kuffner ridge

The victims were 56 and 57 years old. Their bodies were recovered around 6.30 today. ‘They were found on the north side of Mont-Maudit, at 4100 meters above sea level’ a spokesman for the gendarmerie told ANSA. ‘They probably crashed about 200 meters higher during the descent phase’.

The alarm had gone off yesterday evening. Around 5 pm they had warned that they would arrive back within three hours - sadly no further reports were made.
